No need to fret, off the grid doesn't mean the website is down, what we're trying to say is that the website just got a little more hands on for people in South Africa.  Here at Del Toyota in Thorndale, Pennsylvania we have been staring wistfully at flights deals, dreaming of going to check out how Toyota created a live action outdoor website promoting the 2013 RAV4.

The motivation behind this promotion is to reach out to the target market of the RAV4, those who would usually spend their time in the outdoors, not on the computer.  To reach those people Toyota made an interactive outdoor cycling track using infrared sensors, pulley systems and functioning buttons.

The 1.8km track in South Africa was designed to work in unison with the website, consisting of separate sections for models, safety, interior, overall design and a test drive.  The cyclists that participated could hit one of two buttons as the sped through the course, resulting in the selected info appearing at the next section.
