Ever since the very first Prius joined the Del Toyota Inc. showroom the hybrid vehicle has set the standard for ecofriendly cars.  Recently, Toyota Chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada spoke at the Economic Club right here in our region of West Chester, Pennsylvania about the future of the brands iconic vehicle.

Uchiyamada, the father of the Prius, responded to the recent talk that the current hybrid models are only placeholders for the future, and will not be prevalent down the road.  In his statement he talked about how the vehicles will remain popular with consumers due to the advancements in fuel efficiency every new generation makes.

The fourth generation Prius, which is currently in development, is looking to continue the tradition according to Uchiyamada: "In each of the previous moves to a new generation, we achieved a 10 percent increase in mileage per gallon. We are committed to beating that record this time.”1

At the Economic Club the new hydrogen fuel cell vehicle that Toyota is developing was also talked about, which will give off zero emissions and revolutionize the world of green cars.

In addition, Uchiyamada spoke of Toyota's thoughts on the subject of autonomous vehicles, which other brands have been focusing on creating.  While the Japanese automaker is dedicated to safer driving experiences, they believe the more intelligent driving systems need to be developed slower and in cooperation with governments.

Currently we have an array of models that build off the base version of the new 2013 Prius, all of which carry on the vehicles history and prowess.  If you are interested in learning more about our green technology come by our showroom Thorndale, Pennsylvania to see our inventory of new cars that includes more hybrid vehicles than any other brand.
