Here at Del Toyota in Thorndale, Pennsylvania we are admittedly biased in regards to the above question.  However, to most people trading a supercar for a hybrid would seem downright insane.  But, those who jump to this conclusion are overlooking the facts, they hear Ferrari and start drooling, so let us introduce you to the defense: practicality.

For one British man the answer to the question came down to the fact he needed a car that was easier to maintain and drive.  In a video made by Toyota we see the man, named Mr. Hyatt, justifying his actions to all the skeptics out here.

Mr. Hyatt dreamed of owning a high-performance car since he was a child going to races with his father, so the idea of buying a supercar seeped into his brain at a young age.  When the time came to purchase one we can only imagine his excitement, but that would subside quickly, and Mr. Hyatt said that he hated the Ferrari when he got inside.

That is where the Prius stepped in, offering everything he wanted and then some.  Comfort, reliability, catchy engineering and the hybrid system sold Mr. Hyatt on the car, and he claims he has not looked back since making the swap.

It truly seems like a David versus Goliath story, as the little hybrid defeated the seemingly indomitable Italian supercar. As seen in the video, you cannot use a Ferrari to transport your bike to your favorite riding road, so in the end convenience and practicality was the victor.

Now, we are not saying we would pass on the opportunity to own a Ferrari, what we are saying is that we would also own a Prius for everyday driving.  This would be an ideal situation, the perfect one-two punch.  At Del Toyota we invite you to check out the 2013 Prius in our inventory of new cars, and for those in the Thorndale, Pennsylvania region, if you want to trade us a Ferrari we will gladly make the swap.
