The Consumer Electronics Show is going on right now in Las Vegas and there have already been tons of incredibly things revealed to all of us here online and present at the show. One of which is something that's been a long time coming, something highly anticipated, and something that could potentially revolutionize the way that we refuel and drive in the future: the Toyota Hydrogen Vehicle.
True, we did see it last year at the Tokyo Motor Show in its conceptual form, and the one revealed yesterday was still coated in camouflage, but the point is that it's just aboutready to go. Senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Bob Carter, had a lot of enthusiastic and confident things to say about it. "Fuel cell electric vehicles will be in our future sooner than many people believe, and in much greater numbers than anyone expected," and, "I believe what I'm going to tell you about today is going to change our world."1 Big words and ones we wholeheartedly believe.
The hydrogen sedan has an estimated release date of sometime in 2015 and will be reasonably priced. The debut model has been estimated to have a range of 300 miles with refueling times hovering just around 5 minutes; this is great incentive for those hesitant to go green for fear of long EV recharge times.
Stay tuned in to our blog and we'll keep you up to date on how all of this plays out. If you'd like to check out a current new Toyota vehicle, visit us today at Del Toyota Inc. in Thorndale, PA.
