The Toyota Prius is a relatively recent model. They've only existed for about 15 years now. So, do we know how reliable they are?

Well, Bob Old still has his second generation 2004 Toyota Prius, and he'll tell you how it's been treating him.

The driver's seat is now perfectly formed to his body from 435,000 miles behind the wheel. He likes it that way. Though his Toyota dealer suggests he get a new car, Bob thinks he'll drive his Prius into the ground. And so far, the ground seems like it could still be very far away.

He's had to replace a few minor parts over the years, but never the battery.

To keep his Toyota running reliably, all Bob does is keep up to date with his scheduled service, and he always uses a Toyota service center. The Prius is, after all, and advanced technological machine. He wants to know that the people working on it know exactly what they're doing.

This philosophy hasn't failed him so far.
