Here at Del Toyota, we appreciate Toyota's commitment to investing in the education of the industry's future innovators and leaders. The most recent example of this dedication occurred this past Friday during an event on the campus of Georgetown College, where Toyota announced a grant of $1 million in direct support of the college's STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
Toyota's largest manufacturing plant, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, is located next to the Georgetown campus. With around 8,000 full-time employees, it one of the largest employers in the state. Each year the plant donates more than $171,000 to students across Kentucky attending in-state institutions.
“At Toyota, we believe investing in education is an investment in our future, for our community and our company,” said Wil James, president of TMMK. “Partnering with institutions like Georgetown College to advance STEM opportunities won’t just have an impact on how we make cars in the future; we believe it will help shape the future of mobility for our society.”
